  • 2016 Wonderland Project ‘White Queen’ Sonoma Chardonnay

This Carneros Chardonnay is dry and medium-bodied, with just a touch of spice from the 10% being aged in neutral French oak barrels. The wine was made from organically-farmed fruit and only 2,500 cases were produced.

Aging in oak can add texture, weight, and a touch of sweet spice to both red and white wine. While new oak will amplify these characteristics, neutral oak will add more nuanced flavors to the wine.

  • 2017 Bernard Burgaud Cote-Rotie Syrah (half-bottle)

A deeply colored, rich Syrah from the most northern appellation in the Rhone Valley. The palate is full of sappy black fruit, olives, and sweet baking spice on the finish. The tannins are soft and the wine does well with a 30 minute decant before consuming.

Lovely half bottle for quiet night with a steak or a burger.

2016 Domaine les Semelles de Vent Gigondas “Clos du Garde”

This wine is produced from 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah cultivated on the slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail mountains just above the village of Gigondas in the Southern Rhône Valley. Organic farming practices, hand-harvested, and only 208 cases produced. This is one of Margaux’s (co-founder) favorite producers.

Grenache and Syrah (along with Mourvèdre) are generally the main grape varieties found in southern Rhône Valley red blends.

  • 2016 Domaine Latour-Giraud Meursault ‘Charmes’ 1er Cru MAGNUM

This is an incredibly pleasant and interesting wine with hints of citrus & stone fruit, sweet smoke and hazelnut. The depth of flavor continues for an impressively long finish that never stops developing. Drink now or lay down for another 5-10 years. This wine has the structure to age, but is drinking beautifully now as well.

This wine would be wonderful with a buttery, lobster linguine topped with lemon and fresh herbs.

  • 2016 Philippe Pacalet Nuits-Saint-Georges Pinot Noir

Clean and fruit forward this rich red is well-structured with traces of wild berries and musk on the nose that lead to a smooth, velvety palate that conjures hints of salinity and with a solid underlying minerality.

2018 Piro Presqu’ile Vineyard Pinot Noir

Bright and zingy on the nose, this wine screams to be enjoyed with a variety of foods. We like to call it the ultimate dinner party wine. Serve slightly chilled and let the good times role. Sustainably farmed and only 120 cases produced.

Presqu’ile means peninsula (or literally “almost an island”) in French/Creole, and was a beloved gathering place of the estate’s founding family on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
