Argaux and Amlière Imports have been built on the idea of supporting good wine made by good people that is easy and accessible for everyone. No Name is a project that developed after years of establishing relationships with winemakers who feel the same sense of purpose – that wine should be thoughtfully crafted by people who care about the vineyards, take pride in the process of making it, and create a product that is delicious and unique to its home. That is why we teamed up with Marc Piro, one of our most-trusted winemakers, to create the No Name project. We wanted to create cool-climate California Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, that was both affordable and high-quality.

After winning a scholarship that placed him at Au Bon Climat in 2012, Marc was lucky enough to be mentored by legendary winemakers, Jim Clendenen and Bob Lindquist. Over the years, Marc has perfected his craft and developed his own style, which focuses on balance, structure, elegance, and drinkability.

Marc and the Argaux team created the special blend together for our 2019 No Name Pinot Noir. The region, attention to detail, quality of the fruit, and the skill and passion of the winemaker are what make these wines stand out. We are incredibly proud of this wine. It is a special project to us, but the wine speaks for itself.

PINOT NOIR
This elusive and delicate light-bodied grape is a winegrowers dream, but can be difficult to achieve. Stubborn, yet flirtatious, Pinot Noir is tantalizing creating a beautiful dance between the grape and the winemaker. The resulting light red wine can be nothing short of spectacular. Loved for its red fruit and spicy characteristics, its also a great food partner. Look for notable regions including Burgundy, France, Central Coast or Sonoma in CA, Willamette Valley in Oregon, and Pfalz or Baden in Germany as well as many other regions around the world in New Zealand, Australia, Chile, and Argentina.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
When we speak of Central Coast, CA were including numerous diverse regions from Santa Cruz down through Santa Barbara counties. This encompasses smaller areas such as Santa Cruz Mountains AVA, Monterey AVA, Paso Robles AVA, Santa Maria Valley AVA, Santa Ynez Valley AVA, and Sta. Rita Hills AVA. The Central Coast is responsible for many great value wines from a multitude of grape varietals depending on the climate within the specific designated areas. From the coastal AVA’s with influence from the fog and cooling effects, you will find Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The inland AVA’s are much warmer, like Paso Robles, so look here for outstanding Syrah, Grenache, Zinfandel, or Rhône-style blends.
