Ottomani Tuscan Organic Extra-Virgin Olive Oil

Responsibly Farmed
Hidden Gem
Classic in Style

This olive oil is from Impruneta & Greve in Chianti, an area just 9 miles south of Florence and traditionally known as the best region for Tuscan olive oil production.

As with the wines we tend to gravitate towards artisanal, hand-harvested olive oil that is produced from organic/biodynamically farmed groves.

Use this in dressings, pestos, as a dip with some focaccia, or drizzle it on any dish as the finishing step.

  • Variety 40% Moraiolo, 40% Frantoio, 15% Leccino, 5% Coreggiolo olives

We first discovered Ottomani in 2019 at one of the largest international wine trade shows in Veneto called Vinitaly. With over 4,000 wineries present, we found comfort in the “organic tent” knowing we were going to be tasting wines made by like-minded individuals. We found Ottomani on the second day of the tradeshow and were initially struck by their olive oil. The depth and concentration of flavor blew our minds. The wine came next and it was just as impressive and pure as the olive oil with balance and an incredible sense of place. We have been importing the wines for a few years now, but this is the first time we have been able to import the olive oil. It is just as good as we remember and we are incredibly excited to be able to offer it to our customers for the first time.

Ottomani was started in 2006 by four friends who met studying enology at the University of Florence. Post-graduation and various jobs later, they found a dream farm for sale in Chianti Colli Fiorentini D.O.C.G. Today the four friends live and work together on their 100% self-sustaining farm. In the beginning, they worked hard to recover old vines and preserve local indigenous grape varieties by using biodynamic farming practices and vinification techniques. They decided from the very beginning not to use synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers, but to work exclusively with “sustainable” agronomic methods for the environment. The farm is 100% solar-powered, has its own water well, various livestock on the property, a vineyard, olive tree orchard and an abundant vegetable & herb garden.

“The importance we attach to the agronomic part is fundamental to the agricultural vision we have.”
