The pioneering winemaker, Paris Sigalas, bottled his first wine in 1991. Investing in the dynamism of the Santorini vineyard, he applied innovative ideas to both viticulture and winemaking methods, which led to a “dynamic evolution of tradition,” which is his motto.

With a family tradition of viticulture, like most Santorinians, the future mathematician (Paris Sigalas) spent his student summers on the island, harvesting the family’s vines and participating with friends in the production of the family’s wine, a process that fascinated him more and more. Little by little he took over the reins of his grandfather’s vineyards as well. He admits his passion for tasting and evaluating wine was what ultimately raised the bar for the wines he made himself.

The Sigala Estate is located on the northern part of the island, in the vineyard of Oia. The 40 hectares on vines are cultivated sustainably, focusing on the native varieties of Santorini and the neighboring Cyclades.
