Do Not Unwrap
The bottles arrive wrapped in black tissue paper with a numbered seal — indicating tasting order and wine style. That's all you need to know. Resist the urge to peek.

"Bring the experience of a blind wine tasting into your very own home with Argaux's blind tasting kit. Experience new wines and follow along with their how-to guide so you can get the full blind tasting experience." — Sarah Boyd, Forbes
Every Kit Includes
Sommelier-Selected Wines
Each bottle is hand-picked by the Argaux team, wrapped in black tissue paper to conceal its identity, and sealed with a numbered label indicating tasting order and wine style. Do not unwrap until you've made your call.
The Argaux Tasting Guide
How-to instructions, an overview of key varietals and regions, and the tips and tricks our sommeliers use in professional blind tastings. Your roadmap from first pour to final reveal.
The Infamous Tasting Grid
The same deductive tasting grid our sommeliers trained on. Structure your reasoning through sight, nose, and palate — then commit to a call on grape, region, vintage, and price.

The Experience
How It Works
The bottles arrive wrapped in black tissue paper with a numbered seal — indicating tasting order and wine style. That's all you need to know. Resist the urge to peek.
Read through the Argaux tasting guide and watch the how-to video. Have a pen ready and arrange clean glassware for each wine before you open anything.
Pour and work through each wine using sight, nose, and palate. Sip and swish your first pour — seriously, like mouthwash. This helps you assess sweetness, acidity, tannin, alcohol, body, and finish.
Use the infamous tasting grid to structure your deductive reasoning. Think through varietal, region, climate, and vintage. Reference the tips and tricks in your guide as you go.
Commit to your answer. What's the grape? Where's it from? What year? What would you pay for it? This is the moment the experience is built for.
Text a photo of the label to your Pocket Somm for the answer. Unwrap, pour more, and ask yourself the only question that really matters: did you enjoy it?
The goal isn't to get it right. It's to pay attention — and fine-tune what you know you love.

Each bottle arrives wrapped so you can't see the label. Using the included tasting guide and grids, you'll evaluate each wine through sight, aroma, and taste before making your best guess about the grape, region, style, or price. Once you've finished, you unwrap the bottles and reveal the answers.
Blind tasting removes preconceived ideas about wineries, regions, grape varieties, and price points. Without labels influencing your expectations, you can focus entirely on what's in the glass and develop a deeper understanding of your own preferences.
