2024 Bodegas Albamar Rías Baixas Albariño
The 2024 Bodegas Albamar Rías Baixas Albariño is the flagship white from winemaker Xurxo Alba, crafted from 100% Albariño grapes sourced from various parcels in the Salnés Valley, primarily grown on granitic and sandy soils. This vintage is defined by its exceptional balance and precise, “laser-like” acidity with intense maritime character.
The wine is absolutely electric on the palate with a slightly creamy texture from five to six months spent on the fine lees. It features a dry, chalky finish with a distinct salty sensation. Our mouths are watering already…
Hand-harvested, indigenous yeasts and fermented primarily in stainless steel, malolactic conversion is blocked, approximately 30–40% aged in neutral oak foudre.
- Tasting Notes fresh lemon, green apple, lime zest, nectarine, delicate orange blossom, Atlantic salinity and a hint of anise
- Variety Albariño
- Region Spain, Rias Baixas
- Volume 750ml
- Alcohol Volume 13%
- Table Talk The name Albamar is a clever fusion of the family name (Alba) and the Spanish word for sea (Mar). It perfectly captures the essence of the wine, which Xurxo describes as "Albariño by the sea shore".
