Whether new to Gruner Veltliner or a longtime fan of the grape, this exquisite expression from Hirsch promises to please. Hailing from Austria’s famed Kamptal region, fruit for this wine is grown in calcareous and loamy soils, which is responsible for the structured, mineral-driven backbone of the wine (AKA, what we love about it so much!) This our go-to with sushi. It also pairs well with Thai food or anything with a little spice.
Organic and biodynamically-farmed vineyards, family-owned estate, slow fermented with native yeasts, and vinified entirely in steel.
This wine is for a Pinot Noir oenophile.
The ‘Les Champeaux’ premier cru vineyard was planted in 1987 on the northern edge of Gevrey-Chambertin. It’s located high up on the slope with south-east facing exposure which allows for slow and steady ripening. The result is a wine with great purity, structure and incredibly silky tannins.
Biodynamic farming practices, hand-harvested, native yeast fermentation, unfined/unfiltered, vegan-friendly, and only 75 cases produced.
Sancerre, Gruner Veltliner, Vermentino lovers – This one’s for you. Grown on the volcanic island of Ischia, this wine quite literally tastes like the azure waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Our director of imports enjoyed this wine for the first time with a large bowl of pasta alla vongole after an ocean dip. “The salty sea still lingering on my lips and this light, crisp wine on that hot day was unparalleled.”
Organic farming practices, hand-harvested, native yeast fermentation, minimal intervention winemaking and only 400 cases produced.
