2022 Daniel Bouland Cote de Brouilly ‘Cuvée Mélanie’ Beaujolais
Margaux has been looking for this wine since 2019 when she first discovered it at Chez Panisse. The old vine cuvée sang alongside roasted duck, green olives and celery root remoulade.
Thankfully the wine is still brilliant — On the palate it’s medium-bodied, vibrant and complex, with a beautiful core of fruit and smooth texture. This is one of the most exciting wines we have included in the club shipments all year!
Sustainable farming practices, hand-harvested, whole-cluster and native yeast fermentation, unfiltered.

2019 Portelli Cerasuolo di Vittoria
We’re not sure if yummy is an official tasting note, but that’s what this wine is. The 2019 is a bright and energetic vintage; velvety and fresh. The blend of Frappato and Calabrese is a perfect marriage, balanced and complete. There is enough vibrance and freshness to drink well on its own, but just enough tannin and acid to be versatile at table.
Organic and biodynamic viticulture.

2020 David Reynaud Domaine les Bruyeres Crozes-Hermitage
This estate always makes a terrific Crozes, and the 2020 vintage coming from 20-30 year old vines is no exception. Ripe and distinctive, this wine is rounded, medium-bodied, and beautifully balanced with loads of charm and appeal. Drink it now or over the coming 4-6 years.

The 2023 Cantina Cinque Terre Bianco DOC is an incredibly refreshing, light, and zippy white wine crafted from 10-80 year-old native vines. Each varietal in the blend contributes to a distinctive coastal character, making this wine a true reflection of its Ligurian roots. Expect scents of scent of limoncino and fresh Mediterranean herbs with vibrant acidity, and a crisp and clean finish.
Team Argaux tip: Try this with the new Gnocchi Pesto Genovese recipe from Peter Neptune, MS and our Fall wine club drop! It is BOMB.
Sustainable farming. Fermentation and aging in stainless steel. Five months lees aging.
-
2021 Benjamin Leroux Bourgogne Aligoté
This is one of the most exciting hidden gems we have found all year. Benjamin Leroux’s Aligoté is sourced from old vines in the prestigious regions of Meursault and Bouzeron and the wine showcases the best of what this grape has to offer. Five stars. Enjoy with citrus and herb driven dishes.
Certified organic & biodynamic farming practices, native yeast fermentation, no fining or filtering and aged for 12 months in used oak.
-
2022 Wonderland Project Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon
This Cab is grown on a west-facing slope, above the fog line, on the northern ridge of the Atlas Peak AVA. The palate is dense and complex, marked by a long and polished finish. All we can say is, there’s a reason this graces the wine list at French Laundry.
Organic farming practices, unfined/unfiltered, vegan-friendly, and only 1,000 cases produced.
-
2018 Lucien Crochet Sancerre Rouge ‘La Croix du Roy’ (half-bottle)
Sancerre rouge is kind of like the forgotten child. The region is famous for its crisp, aromatic whites, but Lucien Crochet has quietly been producing some of the best old vine Pinot Noir in the region.
Organic farming practices, hand-harvested, 22 months in a combo of stainless steel and neutral french oak barrels.
-

A classic style and a great alternative to more expensive Chablis. This is a great party wine to serve as an apéritif alongside shellfish appetizers or with dinner if something like linguine & clams is on the menu.

-
2020 Domaine Gallety ‘Côtes du Vivarais’ Rouge
This Southern Rhone stunner comes from Saint-Montan, halfway between Cornas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wine is smoothe and velvety with just enough weight to pair with a burger. This wine is a crowd-pleaser.
Organic farming practices and native yeast fermentation.
-
2022 Pierre Riffault ‘7 Hommes’ Sancerre (half-bottle)
Sancerre is the “spiritual home” of Sauvignon Blanc. It’s considered to be the purest expression of Sauvignon Blanc on the planet and a wine we love for its versatility when it comes to food. It pairs well with light green salads and Crottin de Chavignol goat cheese of course, but Sancerre comes to life alongside vibrant fish dishes like seafood thai curry.
This wine comes from 25+ year old vines that are sustainably farmed in clay-limestone and chalk soils. It’s vinified in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness.
-
2019 Paolo Conterno Barolo ‘Riva del Bric’ (half-bottle)
Conterno is one of the best producers in Barolo (hands down). His wines are consistently elegant, precise and powerfully composed. This wine is all that and more. The beautiful balance and structure is a testament to the incredible 2019 vintage, which is said to be the best year since 2016. Drink now through 2033.
Sustainable farming practices, hand-harvested and only 1,666 cases produced.
-
2023 Argaux Santa Ynez Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Ernst Storm has done it again! This vibrant, crisp white is everything we want in a Sauvignon Blanc. He is the only winemaker we would trust to help us with our premier label and we are so proud. It is truly Argaux in a bottle – it encompasses all the things important to us when we are sourcing – sense of place (terroir), thoughtfully curated (responsibly farmed, meticulously made) and drinkable (must be a damn good glass of wine).
Sustainable farming practices and hand-harvested at night to retain freshness. The wine was fermented cold in 100% stainless steel and aged on the lees for 6 months for added mouthfeel.
-
2020 Contratto Metodo Classico Pas Dose Millesimato
You are drinking history when you pop this cork. This 19th century estate is the birthplace of Metodo Classico and these wines have graced the tables of not only the Vatican, but also the House of Savoy (the Italian Royal Family), as well as the British monarchy throughout history. This is dry, refreshing and incredibly food friendly.
Organic farming practices, hand-harvested, native yeast fermentation, 36 months on the lees, hand-riddled, and around 7,000 cases produced annually.
-
2021 Clefs des Murailles ‘Vacqueyras’ Rouge Red Blend
Let’s face it, we all love CDP (Chateauneuf-du-Pape), but most of us can’t afford to pull those corks on a daily basis. That is where ‘Vacqueyras’ comes in. It’s swimming in the next lane, with eerily similar characteristics, at a lower price. This is one of my party trick wines (looks pricey and tastes pricier).
Sustainable farming practices, woman-winemaker.
-
2023 Caruso e Minini Frappato Organic Rosé “Frappo”
Let’s set the scene: You’ve had a long day at the beach, friends popped over, pizza is on the way and you are nibbling on some green olives and potato chips on the patio as you pour yourself another glass. Dry, refreshing and crisp.
Certified organic farming practices, hand-harvested, woman-winemaker and less than 2,000 cases produced annually.
-
2021 Domaine Pinson Frères Chablis ‘Les Clos’ Grand Cru
For those who love Chablis, you know that ‘Les Clos’ is the emblematic, top Grand Cru of Chablis. The 50+ year old vines sit on a steep slope and enjoy the perfect sun exposure which provides ideal ripening conditions. 2021 for Chablis is adamantly old-school in its tension and inscrutably mineral depths. If you had to describe the vintage in one word it would be ‘aristocratic.’
Organic farming practices, hand-harvested, native yeast fermentation in 80% stainless steel tanks, 20% new oak and aged in 3-4 year old barrels.
-
2010 Casanuova Delle Cerbaie Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva MAGNUM
This wine comes from the prestigious hill of Montosoli and 2010 is widely regarded as one of the best Brunello vintages, with perfect growing conditions resulting in wines of great structure, depth, and aging potential. It is drinking really beautifully right now. No need to decant, just open 30 minutes before enjoying.
Organic farming practices, hand-harvested and 250 cases produced on average only in exceptional years.
