Château Brane-Cantenac
Baron de Brane is the esteemed second wine of Château Brane-Cantenac, a distinguished winery located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, France. This wine pays homage to Baron Jacques-Maxime de Brane, who owned the estate in the 19th century and was instrumental in elevating its reputation. The vineyards of Château Brane-Cantenac span approximately 94 hectares, with grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a small percentage of Carmenère. Baron de Brane is crafted from select parcels, predominantly from Terrace 5, known for producing elegant and charming fruit, and Terrace 3, which contributes structure to the wine. Baron de Brane reflects a meticulous blend of traditional and modern winemaking techniques. The wine typically comprises a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, though the exact proportions can vary by vintage.
