Maison Frédéric Magnien is a fifth-generation estate based in Morey-Saint-Denis, founded in 1995 by Frédéric Magnien after gaining experience in California, Australia, and with his family’s Domaine Michel Magnien. His vision was to elevate overlooked parcels and bottle site-expressive wines under his own label. Today, the estate is a leader in organic and biodynamic viticulture in the Côte de Nuits, certified organic since 2008 and biodynamic by 2015. Frédéric works closely with partner growers and his own vineyard team, practicing hand-harvesting, meticulous pruning, and lunar-calendar farming to promote vine health and terroir expression. In the cellar, he employs native yeasts, minimal sulfites, and ages wines in a mix of seasoned French oak, clay amphorae, and terracotta eggs to preserve freshness and nuance. His wines are unfined, unfiltered, and consistently celebrated for their purity, precision, and ability to convey the unique character of each vineyard site—from village-level Bourgogne to Grand Cru.
