2019 Domaine Alain Burguet Gevrey-Chambertin ‘Lavaux Saint Jacques’ Premier Cru
This rustic Pinot Noir hails from a premier cru climat just west of Gevrey-Chambertin. The palate is medium-bodied with rich and concentrated flavors, nice acidity, and integrated tannins. Aged for 19 months in barrel (50% new oak).
Like all of Burguet’s wines, this bottle is produced from organic (converting to biodynamic) fruit, native yeasts, and is bottled unfined / unfiltered. Only 50 cases produced.
NV Delavenne Champagne Père & Fils Cuvée ‘Dom Basle’ Brut Reserve Grand Cru
Named Dom Basle in homage to the great figure in the history of Champagne and the Montagne de Reims, the Cuvée Dom Basle – Brut Réserve is the great classic of Maison Delavenne.
This well-balanced Champagne combines finesse, regular fruitiness and consistency over time. Clear color with golden reflections. Notes of white dried fruits. A seductive roundness, a freshness associated with finesse. Can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with a meal.
Organic/biodynamic farming practices, native yeast fermentation, and less than 2,000 cases produced annually.
2023 Scribe Carneros Pinot Noir
Scribe, a pioneer of terroir-driven winemaking in Sonoma, makes one of our all-time favorite Pinots. Invite a few close friends over for an intimate dinner, light some candles, play some jazz and serve wild mushroom risotto topped with fish, chicken or as is! This Pinot will go with it all.
Organic farming practices, hand-harvested, native yeast fermentation (30% whole cluster), and aged 7 months in neutral oak with minimal intervention.
2022 Bachelet-Monnot Maranges ‘La Fussiere’ Blanc Premier Cru
Fruit for this 1er cru White Burgundy comes from the highest vineyard site in Maranges (avg. 30 years in age). This is a sneaky premier cru that I think would keep an eye on. It may be the best valued Burgundy on the market.
Organic farming practices, hand-harvested, native yeast fermentation and aged for 12 months in barrel.
