The 2023 Ordoñez Bodegas Vatan Nisia Las Suertes is a remarkable old-vine Verdejo from pre-phylloxera vineyards in Segovia, some planted as early as the 1880s. Grown on sandy soils at over 800 meters, the wine shows both power and finesse—layered with melon, verbena, and crushed stone–lifted by a steely, citrus-driven acidity. Aged on lees in French oak puncheons and demi-muids, it gains a silky texture and subtle honeyed depth, finishing with a sherbet-like freshness. A serious, cellar-worthy white, it shines equally on the dinner table now or through 2030.

Traditional dry farmed viticulture, hand-harvested, native yeast fermentation in new and second use large barrels, aged on the lees for a minimum of 7 months in French oak puncheons and demi-muids (500-600 L barrels, respectively).
