2019 i Clivi Friuli Colli Orientali DOC ‘Galea’ Friulano

Responsibly Farmed
Hidden Gem
Classic in Style

This wine is a classic, ‘old school’ Friulano. It is earthy, deep, and strongly expressive of the Galea vineyard terroir from which it comes. Packed with sunshine, herbal flavors, nutty and
citrus notes, and a nice long mineral-driven finish.

We love this wine for summer because of its brightness and freshness, yet uniquely complex and delicious character. Pair this beauty with your outdoor aperitivo, seafood, pastas, risottos, and light meats.

I Clivi began in 1995, when Mario Zanusso and his Ferdinando father purchesed 3 old
vineyards in Collio and Colli Orientali appellations of eastern Friuli.

When describing the ethos of the estate, Ferdinando says, “My idea was to let history speak through the wine, by makingas “transparent” a wine as possible, in which soil, climate and tradition may come fully through and be perceived without interferences.”

The wines of I Clivi originate from ancient native vines, whose roots are deeply rooted in a border land, with an austere yet jovial character. Every job in the vineyard, from mowing the grass to the more symbolic harvest, is done by hand. This is how they describe that their production becomes ‘unmistakably artisanal’.
