Clos des Brusquières is a 5th-generation estate with a singular mission: one wine, nothing more. No special cuvées. No white wine. Just a single Châteauneuf-du-Pape, produced in tiny quantities each year. This uncompromising focus defines the estate – an ultra-traditional, no-frills expression of the appellation, producing the single best wine they can.

- Table Talk Châteauneuf-du-Pape literally means “The Pope’s New Castle.” The name comes from the 14th century, when the popes relocated to nearby Avignon and built a summer residence in the area.

The Courtil family has taken a notably focused approach for decades – producing just one wine, with no special cuvées and no white bottlings – allowing all of their attention to go into a single expression of their vineyards each year. Farming and winemaking remain rooted in classic Southern Rhône practices, prioritizing consistency, restraint, and a clear sense of place over modern intervention. The result is an honest, vintage-driven Châteauneuf-du-Pape that reflects both the estate’s heritage and its unwavering commitment to doing one thing well.

They have since fully embraced biodynamic viticulture and are certified by Demeter (as of 2021).
