This family-owned winery located along the Nahe river focuses on estate-only wines because according to Stefan, a wine is made in the vineyard. He carefully monitors his vines, with as little intervention as possible, in order to preserve the individual character of soil. Amen to that!

Organic farming practices, hand-harvested, native yeast fermentation and less than 2,000 cases produced annually.

The historic Kruger-Rumpf estate, located in Münster-Sarmsheim on the Nahe River has been in the family since the early 1700s. However, it was not until 1984 when Stefan Rumpf began producing estate wines, focusing on quality and terroir. Today, his son Georg, a Geisenheim University graduate, leads the winery with a commitment to organic viticulture including the use of bees and sheep for biodiversity. Georg emphasizes careful hand-harvesting and spontaneous fermentation to showcase the best of their vineyards. Located along the Nahe River, the estate benefits from unique terroirs across four major German wine regions. The estate’s top vineyards, including Münsterer Dautenpflänzer and Binger Scharlachberg, are renowned for producing high-quality, dry Grosses Gewächs wines. The estate covers about 100 acres with a total annual production of 25,000 cases, primarily focused on Riesling, Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder, and Spätburgunder.
