Cavalchina is a historic family-run winery based in the Custoza district of Sommacampagna, near Lake Garda in Veneto, Italy. Founded in the early 1900s by the Piona family, it built its cellars in 1948 and became renowned for pioneering the Custoza DOC label—being the first to print “Custoza” on its bottles in 1962, helping establish the appellation’s reputation in markets like Rome and Milan. Nestled on morainic hills that provide mineral-rich limestone-clay soils, the estate produces a diverse portfolio including Bianco di Custoza whites, Tre Bicchieri–awarded Custoza Superiore “Amedeo,” classic Bardolino reds, and their celebrated Bardolino Chiaretto rosé—praised for its crisp acidity and fruity elegance.
