2024 Jean Max Roger ‘Marnes and Caillottes’ Sancerre
This is the kind of Sancerre that reminds you why the region became famous in the first place. From one of the Loire Valley’s most respected family domaines, this wine is crisp and energetic, but layered enough to hold its own at the table. Think oysters, goat cheese, fresh salads, grilled fish, or roast chicken. The kind of bottle that disappears faster than expected and makes everyone ask what it is.
Organic farming practices, hand-harvested, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve purity and freshness. Aged on fine lees before bottling to build texture and depth.

In the quiet village of Bué, just outside Sancerre, the Roger family has been growing grapes and making wine for generations. Today, Jean-Max Roger carries forward that legacy alongside his sons, Thibault and Etienne, continuing a family tradition that dates back centuries.
The Roger family farms vineyards across Sancerre’s most prized limestone slopes, working primarily with Sauvignon Blanc grown in a patchwork of classic Sancerre soils – from rocky caillottes to clay-rich marnes. Each parcel contributes something unique, but the goal is always the same: wines that express the purity, minerality, and freshness that define great Sancerre.
In the cellar, the philosophy is simple and traditional. Grapes are carefully pressed and fermented in stainless steel to preserve the bright citrus and mineral character of the fruit. Extended aging on the lees adds texture and complexity while maintaining the vibrant energy that makes these wines so food-friendly. The result is Sancerre that feels both timeless and precise – elegant, expressive, and unmistakably rooted in place.
