Mommenpop was founded by citrus-obsessed winemaker Samantha Sheehan and her designer husband, Michael McDermott. After crafting traditional method sparkling wines at Poe Wines and Ultraviolet Wines for over a decade, Samantha and her husband decided to try their hand at making their own spritz-inspired concoctions – and the results were pretty delicious.

In 2017, Samantha and Michael produced just 23 cases of Mommenpop vermouth in the heart of Napa. Inspired to create something without dyes, additives, and excess sugar, she and Michael used their love of locally-grown citrus as a jumping point for this tasty aperitif. To create the vermouth, Samantha first crafts her own Chardonnay as the base wine, then uses organic, locally-sourced produce harvested beneath the California sun to make Mommenpop vermouth. This artisanal approach allows the pair to control the amount of sugar and final flavors in the vermouth, leading to a balanced and thirst-quenching aperitif that promises to capture the hearts of citrus lovers everywhere.

4 oz Mommenpop Ruby Grapefruit
3 oz Sparkling Rosé

Combine all ingredients in a wine glass and add ice.
Garnish with a fresh grapefruit slice or peel.

Our most popular hero pour, the Mommenpop Paloma takes its cues from the refreshing Mexican staple that has skyrocketed in demand in the last few years. We add a hint of Saigon cinnamon and salinity to play off the baking spices in Mommenpop’s Ruby Grapefruit and the vegetal notes of agave based tequila for a quaffable highball perfect for lazy summer afternoons.

1.5 oz Mommenpop Ruby Grapefruit
1 oz silver tequila
.5 oz cinnamon simple syrup
.75 oz lime juice
pinch sea salt

Add all ingredients to a chilled collins highball glass.
Add ice and top with grapefruit soda.
Garnish with a grapefruit slice.
